Local staff from specialized programs aimed at improving school safety met to share and develop specific interventions for youth. The research itemized effective arts-based strategies used to engage students in learning and positive peer relationships.
Knowledge Mobilization Activities:

This project mobilizes knowledge in five ways through: (1) written recommendations; (2) networking meetings and workshops; (3) shared profession development; and (4) international and local academic and professional presentations .

The written recommendations will be included in the report “Safely Connected: Mobilizing Educator Expertise.” This report aims to inform possibilities for program staff, Boards of Education, and the Ministry of Education in Ontario and beyond. The final report is available electronically.

Outcomes:
The GTA Network was an effective process for Safe Schools Programs to gather, learn, and share. It was not sustainable beyond the project period.
